I hope you are enjoying today's Mercury sextile Jupiter. It comes in a period of strong planetary energies, with Pluto stationary retrograde this week and the approaching New Moon eclipse this weekend, and I'll have more to say on this in another post.
With dwarf planet Pluto almost stationery retrograde, we can feel a contraction in the power available to transform our lives, and we know that in the next few months we are going to have to be more resourceful, to trim unproductive activities, and we are likely already pausing any expansion plans.
But today I want to mention the blessing that will carry us through these next couple of weeks, which is the trine between dwarf planet Ceres and Saturn. And we tend to underestimate and overlook Ceres, because we think of her as an asteroid, but she is now rightly a planet, and the only inner planet able to effect a change in the balance of power.
Of all the gods, Ceres chose to spend most of her time on Earth with us mortals, so we frequently don't recognise her divine nature. But it is important that we do, because when we only relate to her on a mundane level, we cannot access her higher powers in our lives.
In myth, when she was roaming the earth in search of her daughter who had been kidnaped by Pluto, she visited one of the kings of the region. Assuming the body of an old woman, she asked for shelter, and he took her in to nurse his sons.
In return for his kindness she decided to make one of his sons immortal, and she anointed him with Ambrosia and laid him in the hearth to burn away his mortal self. But his mother came in and screamed in fright, and Ceres abandoned the attempt, instead teaching the other son about growing grain.
Believing is Winning
Much of the secret to winning, is knowing that you can, and when we don't allow ourselves to believe in the divine potential of each moment, we lock ourselves into the mundane. We do this because it seems safer than connecting with the divine level by embracing the fire of life.
But Ceres is the perfect coach to help us through this process, able to nurture us through highs and lows, and to make sure we get the love and nourishment that we need, both in the mundane realm, and on a spiritual level.
I talk about the outer dwarf planets as being aspects of consciousness and point out that they therefore operate differently in our lives depending on our current level of consciousness.
And, although Ceres is an inner planet, the myth suggests she also has an ability to manifest differently depending on our level of consciousness. This means that if we can recognise her divine powers and trust the process, Ceres can be an accessible door to the divine in our lives.
Onboarding New Consciousness
So, if you want to reimagine Ceres as an accessible door to the divine, or if you feel overlooked and undervalued, and want to shift the balance of power in your life, jump into the Ceres 101 course starting in June, where you can study her house placement, aspects and transits to your chart, with a friendly international group of astrologers and astrology students.
We enable these new energies in our lives simply by being conscious of them, and it is truely beautiful to see the growth of all the students as they onboard these new consciousness energies. This onboarding happens through the supportive class culture, and the interactive process of the on demand webinars, blog-posted assignments and live Zoom Q&As in each course.
Join us if you can on the classes and thanks for your work incorporating these new aspects of consciousness into your life.

Thank you for the information, which is otherwise very hard to find. I believe Ceres gives me hope and strength, as my natal Saturn is in the 1st house.
Thanks for this. As I head into legal mediation today, this was the perfect reminder that Ceres conjunct my MC is there to help me tap into the Divine, shift the balance of power, and hold the intention for a fair outcome.
