The Astrology of Haumea

This is the first of a series of textbooks on the astrology of the new dwarf planets, based on the research at the Dwarf Planet University.

Probably the most valuable section is the house interpretations, looking at how Haumea manifests in our daily lives with example case studies.

There is also a workbook to locate and on-board this new energy in your chart. And a section introducing each of the dwarf planets to put Haumea in context.

Mercury biquintile Gonggong

I hope you are enjoying today's Pluto stationary direct. At last we can stop cutting the unproductive areas of our lives as a way of maintaining our power, and we can start marshalling new resources into our lives. Mars has been square Pluto for the past few days, which has been bringing confrontations to a head to clear the way for this new start.

Mercury is also conjunct Makemake at 10 degrees Libra today, so our ideas and communications are working together with our understanding of how the world works. This is the lower and higher intellectual octaves conjunct, which means we know where we're coming from and can more effectively communicate our position.

This is also a fantastic aspect to launch our new book, The Astrology of Makemake, Uranus' Higher Octave, which is now on sale as a Kindle download. The paperback is also making it's way through the system and should join with the Kindle edition by this weekend. So the next blog post will be an invite to download the Kindle version for free. You will need to act quickly to get this free offer when you get the invite. And the deal is, if you like it, write a review, or tell a friend about it.

Today's Mercury-Makemake conjunction is biquintile Gonggong at 5 degrees Pisces. So our big-picture knowing, and our thoughts and ideas, are in an evolutionary flow with our empathic ability to lift the vibe of others, and to get our products or ourselves out into the marketplace.

We have to get out of the rut of our own vibe to do that however. And Gonggong is also opposite Venus and sesquiquadrate the Sun, so that might be hard to do. With Gonggong we have to be careful of indulging our emotions, or just being too self-centred.

Gonggong is compassionate, sensitive, and empathic at the top level, enabling us to work both intellectually and emotionally at the same time. He encourages us to participate in the marketplace of life, to joyfully work with the give and take of energy within our community, which is essential for our survival.

When we can lift ourselves out of our personal emotions, he enables us to “walk a mile in another person’s shoes”, so we can feel inside those we are interacting with and understand the game from their side. This gives us the opportunity to motivate them and shift their energy through our responses. So, we can think of Gonggong at this top level as an empathic wizard.

At the unconscious level however we may feel overwhelmed with the emotions in our lives, and unable to see a clear path forward out of the morass of our personal feelings. The key at these points is not to indulge in this overwhelm, but to allow ourselves to float to the surface and then rise above it.

We need to channel the energies in our lives to avoid overwhelm. Damming doesn’t work, everything just builds up behind the dam. So we need to practice channelling emotions or energy when we are feeling overwhelmed. This is not a withdrawal and refresh process, but a participation and refresh process, where we find an application for the emotion or energy in real time.

We tend to feel at these times that by lifting ourselves above the overwhelm, we are not dealing with important lessons. However, the reverse is true, the divine work is to let go of the base emotions so we can be sensitive to the emotional community in which we are nestled, and open to the empathic support of others.

So the opportunity with today's Gonggong biquintile to the Mercury - Makemake conjunction, is to open to that empathic support through our communications, which will be closely aligned with our understanding of how it all works. So we know where we're coming from today, and we can also integrate that deeply with where others are coming from.
