You have a choice of two Zoom class time options. As well as the Zooms, the courses comprise on-demand videos and blog-posted assignments on your personal chart. These assignments are consciousness exercises to onboard the planet's energy. Both Zoom groups will post their assignments on the same blog, and the recordings of both Zooms will be available to the members of both groups.
This course also has our new 'Tutor support program', which provides support Zooms to help those students who need assistance to complete the assignments. These support sessions are proving very popular and getting great feedback. So, wherever you are with your understanding of astrology, our tutors can help you participate.
We start with a live Welcome Q&A and we will explore Haumea's House position in the first fortnight, her aspects in the second fortnight and transits in the third. Each fortnight will include an instructional webinar, an investigative assignment based on your personal chart and a live 2 hour Zoom Q&A session.
Course Content
This course will explore Mani in your personal chart and the charts of the other class members. We'll look at the house placement and the aspects and research our transits, as we learn to embrace this glorious, gentle, compelling guide and understand how to pursue and develop the higher aspect where we love life, and care for the peoples by giving what is true from ourselves.
____
Karen la Puma, a member of the NCGR Mani Research Project gives us the mythical interpretation:
Máni (Old Norse for "Moon") is the male personification of the moon. He travels across the sky in a chariot, guiding the moon's course and controlling its phases to help mankind keep track of time.
Timekeeping: Máni is primarily a deity of time. His journey across the sky allows mortals to count the years and observe the phases of the moon.
The Eternal Chase: Máni is constantly pursued through the heavens by the wolf Hati Hróðvitnisson (often associated with "Hatred").
Mani is a guide to the Unseen: He is often tied to dreams, visions, and the hidden arts, serving as a beacon for seers and those seeking spiritual insight.
Modern heathen interpretations of Máni emphasize his character as a gentle, protective, and deeply compassionate deity. While historical sources focus on his role as a celestial timekeeper, contemporary practitioners often interpret his myths through a lens of mental health support and social justice.
____
Alison Glenie adds:
Mani as ‘Guardian of the soul’ a guide and defender; a parent by proxy, a Godparent if you will, who shadows our journey, encourages our own self-belief and guides us towards the light. The path to individuation may be experienced as a spiralling movement, whereby we circle around the dark side of the moon to experience, understand and integrate our own shadow self and in completing this passage over time, we may become a unified whole. The bumps and rough patches are tumbled away to reveal the smooth, colourful gem that lies beneath the raw stone.
____
And Sue Minahan adds:
Mani is not the moon per se. The personal daily emotional story, shifts. But, Mani is more the memory of our will to pursue and develop the higher aspect where we love life, and care for the peoples by giving what is true from ourselves, through the shifting ongoing time cycles.
____
Eileen Bowden, a member of the NCGR Mani Research Project, researched the Discovery Sabian Symbol, which is:
A Bluebird perched on the gate of a Cottage
This tells us that Mani is the reward which meets every effort at integration into a social environment, for those who remain true to themselves. The Bluebird is a spiritual messenger bringing blessings from a higher dimension.
It also refers to what one might call a spiritually oriented mind. And the development of a consciousness in which Peace and Happiness dwell. The attainment of harmony. Suggests finding beauty in every moment, being part of a community.
This adds a profound layer to its astrological purpose. As a body associated with intellectual hunger, trusting absolute instincts, and uncovering hidden truths, Máni's connection to this degree suggests that its "mission" in astrology is linked to the transition from external searching to internal peace.
Symbolism of the Discovery Degree
The Threshold of Awareness: The "gate of a cottage" represents a threshold leading to a new realm of existence. Máni’s discovery at this degree suggests it acts as a "messenger" (like the bluebird) between the vast, unknown outer reaches of our solar system and the "home" of our conscious understanding.
____
Eileen Bowden, goes on to say that Mani represents:
Security and reassurance in difficult, dark times with a close connection to humans.
Guidance (special bond with children)
Compassion and a love of humanity
A glorious, gentle,compelling guide
Bringing order
Reliability as a regulator of tides and times for planting and reaping.
Guide for those seeking spiritual insight at Temples to the Moon, invoking protection throught rituals, especially at Full Moons
As an ensouled presence, Mani acts as a bridge between worlds, guiding the transition between life, birth and death (Maybe in the sign of Scorpio)
Gives a strong need to be on the 'right path'
His energy is driven, resilient and relentless.
Can highlight one's inherent psychic abilities or the ever subtle reflection of inner power.
Gives access to understanding the shadow/far side of our emotional state
Breaks old cycles
