Today's conjunction of Venus and Pluto will be with us until the end of the month because Venus is almost stationary and about to go retrograde. Venus talks about the things we value and the retrograde is a time when these values come up for re-assessment, so the conjunction with Pluto will kick this into gear in a big way.
Dwarf planet Pluto has been much maligned by our unconscious understanding of his energy since his discovery, and as a result he is associated with our deepest fears and our shadow baggage. All the dwarf planets work differently in our lives depending on our level of consciousness and this shadow view of Pluto comes from our current fairly primitive level of collective consciousness.
As new outer planets are discovered, each represents a new consciousness that is available to us and the discovery of Pluto enabled the psychological understanding of our lives. This produced the shadow paradigm, where the darkness in our souls is seen to be buried in our unconscious, and the convenience of this is that we don’t have to address it on a day to day basis.
The discovery of so many new planets this century represents a feast of new consciousness that is now available to us, but I suggest we need to ditch Pluto's shadow paradigm to enable him and these other new energies consciously in our lives.
All the dwarf planets manifest differently when we are at the unconscious level, or when we are on the spiritual path, or at the spiritually evolved level. And most people on the planet are at the unconscious level, so what we have been calling Pluto's shadow is simply his unconscious manifestation.
Pluto's action at all levels is to dissolve our Sun ego and open us to the wider consciousness of the new outer planets, and once we are on the spiritual path this ego-dissolving property is actually a valuable tool in our consciousness growth.
And at the spiritually evolved level Pluto can transmute the shadow into light and he becomes the doorway to the divine, the central station for the new heart-centred transpersonal consciousness weare developing as we embrace these new dwarf planets.
So with this long Venus Pluto conjunction which is starting today, we are going into a period of reevaluation through an encounter with our deepest fears and our shadow baggage... which means we will likely start our retrograde reassessment with a strong impulse to clean up in our finances and relationships.
During the retrograde, the Moon's nodes will change signs and theSouth Node will move into Scorpio on the 19th of January. Scorpio isPluto's sign and the South Node is the karma we are resolving, so this will increase the pressure for the shadow material in our lives to be resolved and for us to evolve out of this shadow perspective.
Then on 3rd March next year Venus will conjunct Pluto again as she moves forward and, as the beauty of the universe will have it, Mars will also be present exactly in the conjunction. So I suggest we are entering a period of deep re-evaluation which will flower in earlyMarch and we should be gentle on ourselves though this process and work on transmuting the Pluto energy from shadow to light.
