The Astrology of Haumea

This is the first of a series of textbooks on the astrology of the new dwarf planets, based on the research at the Dwarf Planet University.

Probably the most valuable section is the house interpretations, looking at how Haumea manifests in our daily lives with example case studies.

There is also a workbook to locate and on-board this new energy in your chart. And a section introducing each of the dwarf planets to put Haumea in context.

Jupiter sextile Orcus

I hope you are enjoying today's ingress of Neptune into Aries. Many of us will find a new inspiration with this ingress, a dream which will motivate us to set off on a new path. So, if you are seeking a new path to express your spirituality more actively, these next years will be a rich time of discovery. As your spirituality develops, you will likely seek to redefine your personal identity, aligning this more closely with your spiritual beliefs and ideals.

You could have a heightened sense of intuition during this time and so be more ready to act on your gut feelings and instincts. Any psychic abilities you have will become more pronounced. And, at the top level, you will learn to trust your courageous compassion and you are likely to emerge as a visionary and inspirational leader, pushing for change which has a spiritual or compassionate underpinning.

Beautifully empowering this Neptune ingress, our new karmic consciousness, Orcus, at 18 degrees of Virgo, is sextile Jupiter and bi-quintile Venus. Orcus provides a spiritual gift for navigating life's "difficult terrain", and gives us the ability to tap into profound inner reserves to handle situations that demand resilience and a strong will. So, if we are being straight with ourselves, the Orcus sextile to Jupiter will be bringing both opportunity into our lives and the stamina to rise to that occasion.

The Sabian symbol for the discovery degree of Orcus is: "A camel setting out on a journey across a vast desert". This is like a birth moment for the arrival of the new consciousness in our lives. The camel already has within its body all the food and water it needs for the journey, so Orcus gives us a self-sufficiency in our big endeavours, together with a tenacious persistence, which enables us to access these inner resources.

As we on-board this new consciousness, we gain the ability to endure difficult conditions with unwavering focus so we can achieve a goal, even when comfort or conventional beauty isn't present. We learn to mobilise our inner strength to not only survive, but to accomplish great things.

The sextile to Jupiter started in the middle of January and it is exact today, just as Venus is bi-quintile Orcus. So you may have been marshalling resources for a big work that you are involved in, and, if so, you are likely to find that in these next days you can bring together these reserves and also reach out to the people you need to help you with this project.

As we develop spiritually, Orcus enables us to become accountable for our deeds and actions, and we learn to align with some core tenets which provide us with guide rails to help us navigate our life. We might develop this creed on our own, or it could come through aligning with the shared beliefs of a spiritual community.

So you may be finding your spiritual community in some way with this Jupiter sextile Orcus transit and with Neptune's dive into Aries. If so, these next days with the bi-quintile to Venus will be a wonderful time to reach out to this community and to find a creed that works for you.

Meanwhile Orcus is still sesquiquadrate Pluto, as I talked about in my New Year newsletter. Orcus teaches us to understand the karmic process of life, and at the highest level he gives us the ability to transmute shadow into light. So I suggested then that, with the sesquiquadrate to Pluto, you may have been doing some shadow work this month, dealing with something that started over the Christmas period and came to a head in mid-January.

This aspect will go out of orb on the 7th February, so we're into the final phase of this process. If it has been strong for you and you have been doing some personal, or some social, transmuting of shadow, the Jupiter sextile Orcus will be presenting opportunities to expand this work in some way. And today's exact sextile with Jupiter and close bi-quintile with Venus could see the resolution of this issue.

The sextile to Jupiter will go out of 1 degree orb at the end of next week, on the 6th February, just as the Sun comes up to bi-quintile Orcus. So by persevering this week with whatever big project you are involved in, you will likely be able to take it to the next level by the end of next week.

Dwarf planets truly are infectious, in the best possible way. I started my Dwarf Planet Odyssey dancing with Quaoar and as my nervous system regulates to their threshold frequency I am feeling the call of my home (natal chart planets) more clearly.

The container being the delivery, the medicine, the quest, the questions and the answers.

So with only ten days after the start of Quaoar , Orcus caught my attention in my fifth house and then Allen's newsletter sealed the deal. So I am excited to be participating in my second Dwarf Planet course in March - a nice Segway to the energies being sung into creation by the Quaoar cohort.

As the threshold catapults the Kuiper Belt planets…
