Ixion quintile North Node

I hope you are enjoying today's Venus sextile to Jupiter. Our luck and our opportunity are working in harmony with our values and relationships, so this is a day to relish being together with friends and loved ones. 

Meanwhile Ixion, our new seeker consciousness, at 5 degrees Capricorn, is quintile the North Node in Pisces. This aspect is an evolutionary flow, so you are likely finding that your personal passions and your practical destiny are working together at a very deep level.

Ixion is the wild child in each of us that just wants to satisfy our personal passions and is constantly asking ‘Are the rules we’re playing by the right ones?’ He teaches us to foster an independence of spirit, which enables our seeker consciousness and allows us to pursue a personal spiritual mission. 

This aspect came within a one degree orb two weeks ago, it will be exact in another two weeks - on the 24th October - and will go out of orb in a month on the 6th of November.

So, this month you can change the rules that you are living by in some way. In the area of life represented by the house that Ixion is transiting in your chart, ask yourself, “Are the rules I’m playing by, the right ones?” And if they are not, “Can any of them be changed?” Then take action to change any you can.

Ixion gives you the passion to be authentically yourself and in doing so you will likely step outside the norm and push the social envelope. In bravely being yourself, you may step on some toes and, to maintain your freedom of action, you need to practice asking for forgiveness afterwards, rather than permission before. 

The need for permission conditions and limits our ability to be authentic, so in these next weeks, if you don’t normally follow your heart, make an effort to spontaneously do something you really want to do, when you want to do it. The secret with this is to ‘give yourself permission’. And one way to do this is to declare a holiday, or give yourself ‘time off’.

In these next weeks, with Ixion quintile the North Node, we are into a time when being authentically ourselves will enable us to do our destined work. And it bears repeating that because these new outer planets talk of consciousness, how they manifest in our lives depends on our current level of consciousness. Everyone reading this is on a spiritual path, so for us this next month is an opportunity to bravely follow our spiritual bliss.

When you are operating at the personal planet level of consciousness however, which we all do sometimes, Ixion could be compulsively urging you to disregard boundaries and take what you want when you want it, without any consideration for others. Or you might find that other people are behaving this way to you. This is obviously going to lead to trouble, but we overlook this in the passion of the moment.

If this is happening, you may find that you are unable to keep your promises, or others may not be keeping their promises to you. We have to be careful not to do this, because the myth tells us that this behaviour can lead to retribution and eventually to an outcast, outlaw status.

As we develop spiritually, Ixion enables us to define our own rules and live life on our own terms, while respecting the implicit agreements in our relationships and transmuting our base emotions. At this level, Ixion is passionate and spiritual, and able to maintain a personal spiritual path.

The myth is all about a passionate personal mission and, because Ixion is in orbital resonance with Neptune - making two orbits of the Sun to every three of Neptune's - at the more enlightened level this can become a spiritual mission, where personal passions can become spiritual paths.

Where Neptune’s spirituality is nebulous, Ixion takes that energy and focusses it in a personal spiritual mission that is not afraid to experience both the dark and light sides and to go beyond the norms. So you can use this next month to fearlessly be your true spiritual self.

We need a strong internal passion to guide us beyond the traditional ideas that are crumbling around us in the present era. Our world and our place in it are changing so fast that the old rules don’t work effectively anymore, and we each need to develop our seeker consciousness to chart our own course into the future.
