I hope you are enjoying today's Sun trine Uranus. Today we can open ourselves to adventure, and connect intuitively within our network. This connection is strengthened with Mercury finally stationary direct at 8 degrees Virgo, opposite the Chinese water-god, Gonggong, at 5 degrees Pisces.
Gonggong is an empathic wizard at the top level, able to walk a mile in another's shoes and know what their life is like from the inside. So the opposition as the winged messenger turns, suggests that the more we can understand where people are coming from in our communications during this next Mercury cycle, the better the communication will be.
At the unconscious level however Gonggong can be very self-involved and emotionally indulgent. What’s happening for us is so important, and we are so lost in our own experience, that nothing else matters. And as a result, we can be cruel and heartless to those around us.
Emotions are our instinctive response to the events in our lives. They motivate us to respond immediately, short circuiting our conscious assessment process so we can survive in those dangerous moments when we have to make split second decisions. Unfortunately, this makes our emotions a largely unconscious process, and because of this we often see ourselves as being at the mercy of our emotions, we feel that they take us over and that we are no longer in conscious control.
And we also like to wallow in emotions, because they are strong and powerful and are more real to us than much of the rest of our experience. If we are not conscious of them however, our emotions will run our lives, motivated by all the stuff we have repressed and not dealt with. But we can become conscious of our emotional process and direct our emotions, just as we can our thoughts.
So, as Mercury turns, if we indulge in our emotions, we will be insensitive to how the others that we are relating with are feeling. This will have the opposite effect in our communications, of making them less effective. So if we find ourselves feeling justified in our outbursts, but a little ashamed afterwards, we need to lift ourselves out of our own drama and commune with the vibes we can feel around us.
This enables us to lift our energy out of an indulgent space and into a co-operative interchange with others. Gonggong flowers and becomes an empathic wizard when we take full advantage of the social opportunities, lifting our own and other’s energies through social interplay. And, when we are in tune with others on an emotional, energetic, or psychic level we are able to shape those energies in others by how we interact with them.
