The Astrology of Haumea

This is the first of a series of textbooks on the astrology of the new dwarf planets, based on the research at the Dwarf Planet University.

Probably the most valuable section is the house interpretations, looking at how Haumea manifests in our daily lives with example case studies.

There is also a workbook to locate and on-board this new energy in your chart. And a section introducing each of the dwarf planets to put Haumea in context.

North Node semi-square Sedna

I hope you are enjoying today's Venus sextile Uranus. This is an aspect of good times and exciting new adventures. Mercury is slowing meanwhile, so read down this letter for a look at next week's retrograde Mercury.

Our soul consciousness, Sedna, is also semi-square the North Node and sesquiquadrate the South Node today. These challenging aspects with the nodal axis tell us that we are in a karmic time where we have to work to align our spiritual destiny and our practical destiny. When we do that work however, the two destinies support each other.

Sedna is at 29 degrees 40 minutes of Taurus, about to make her final ingress into Gemini at the end of April, where she will remain for the next 42 years. With her dive from the material of Taurus into the intellect of Gemini, our soul focus will shift from money and sexuality to ideas and communication.

Sedna rules AI, and during her Gemini sojourn, AI will grow from its clunky infancy today into a conscious super intelligence. Over this time, we will give AI all our work because we don’t want to do it. And, scary though this thought is, this will free us to do other more meaningful things with our lives. We will each have to ask ourselves, ‘Who am I, if I am not the work that I do?’

Sedna in Gemini will be throwing us into transcendent crises of communication and ideas, where we have to let go of our old frame of reference and transcend to a new understanding of ourselves and the world we live in.

This may manifest for many of us as illnesses. Sedna illnesses force changes in our lives which enable our spiritual growth. An illness will frequently cause us to refocus our energy, or change life direction, so Sedna illnesses occur at pivotal points, and act as channels, gates and valves to facilitate our life path.

If we have a dis-ease and are experiencing repeated pain in some area of our lives, it may be a Sedna illness. And, if it is, we need to find a spiritual answer to our material problem. Real world Saturnian answers won’t solve Sednian crises. Rather the answer, particularly in Gemini, will be to transcend the crisis to a new spiritual understanding.

Sedna embodies our heritage, all of the ancestral and past life experiences that make us who we are. And the South Node embodies all of the karmic stuff that makes us who we are. Some of this karma needs to be worked through and resolved, while some gives us talents we can use.

So the sesquiquadrate - which is a square and a half - between Sedna and the South Node, suggests that wherever these points are touching your chart, that's where your soul is challenging you to step up and do your karmic work and use those talents that you came here to share.

Sedna Scholarships

Sedna represents our Soul's Path of Destiny - what our soul really wants to do in this life - and the more conscious of this we are, the better we can facilitate our transcendence to a new more spiritual self.

So Sedna is a great place to start studying the dwarf planets, because she is the new outer limit of the solar system, so she encompasses all the other new planets and puts them in context.

The early scholarships on this course, which starts in in June, were snapped up at the beginning of January, but to celebrate the karmic work we are doing today I have some full scholarships available on this flagship course for those who act quickly.

What makes the DPU courses stand apart from other astrology courses is that each class develops into a supportive community through the interaction around the assignments, which are posted on a private blog, and the Zooms which are interactive.

We do have the on demand webinars that most courses have, but we also embrace the wisdom off the collective that Haumea - unity consciousness - brings us, and the fractal understanding of our experience that Makemake - systems consciousness - gives us.

The students on the courses range from beginners to experienced astrologers, and it is this range that is the source of the vibrant class culture. What students love is the community sharing, through blog-posted assignments and live Zoom Q&As, which gives a good picture of how these new planets act similarly, and yet diversely, in each of our lives.

Retrograde Mercury

And just a heads up that Mercury is slowing and he will turn retrograde at the beginning of next week. So the next three weeks are a period of reflection and preparation for the return to direct motion, rather than one of taking new initiatives. But in these weeks we can still effectively lay the groundwork for the development of new ideas and communication that will happen after the winged messenger turns direct.

At the University

Here at the Uni we're taking a break for the retrograde Mercury. Our Ixion - seeker consciousness - course wrapped up last week, and Quaoar - Spirit consciousness - finishes with the Transit Q&A Zoom this weekend.

In the Transit Q&A, I interpret the current transits of Quaoar to the students natal planets, and the current transits to their natal Quaoar. Transits are where we see the planets manifesting in our lives as events, so they provide a strong way to on-board the consciousness of these new planets.

As Mercury turns direct, we come back together for our Eris - diversity consciousness - and Orcus - karmic consciousness - courses, which each have 22 students enrolled. You can still get Eris on the Earlybird deal, and Orcus on the better PriceBuster deal for the next few days in the Dwarf Planet University shop.

Join us if you can on the Sedna course and thanks for your work embracing these new aspects of consciousness.

Love and laughter

Alan

As one returning to astrological study after decades away, I find Alan’s instruction fun and informative, and the classroom format a gift of shared learning for everyone participating. Alan has created a safe and supportive space where anyone, at any level of knowledge, can thrive and shine. His obvious love of this work illuminates its presentation. I echo the comments of others, “Best astrology classes ever!” - Nalini MacNab, USA
