I hope you are enjoying today's Mercury conjunct the North Node. Today we will have destined communications which will create ripple effects throughout our lives. In this light, I draw your attention to my new Zoom talk which I introduce at the end of this post.
Venus is also inconjunct the planet of systems consciousness, Makemake, at 10 degrees Libra. So our values and relationships are sometimes working with our understanding of how it all works, and at other times not. The secret to dealing with the inconjunct is to relax when it's not working, rather than try harder. It is a fated aspect which is teaching us something, or pushing our lives in a certain direction.
Makemake calls spiritual nourishment into our lives and gives us a devotional focus that borders on genius. We can look at him as the higher octave of Uranus, lifting Uranus’ intuition into a rich understanding. At this level, we are able to alchemically break down existing ideas into their component parts and put them back together in new configurations. We understand the context behind the ideas, which enables us to be playful in this process.
Makemake is keen to learn. While he shares Mercury’s curiosity, he is looking at the bigger picture as well as the detail. He talks about freedom, expansiveness, and keen vision, and he encourages us to develop a richer awareness by taking old ideas and playing with them experimentally to liberate their active components.
As we develop our systems consciousness, Makemake encourages us to see ourselves as an organic whole, as well as a member of a team. Through participation and understanding the teamwork process, we learn how to be sensitive enough to tune in to our fellow team members. This interaction gives us a worldview built from our experience, and a view of our place in that world.
Makemake is the model that we build of our world from Uranus’s intuitive flashes. There is no ‘real’ world, there are just phenomena which we interpret based on our experience. A new-born baby sees colour and hears sounds, but they have no Makemake framework to make any sense of it. This model grows over time as we learn to interpret the phenomena around us. Then we react, based on that interpretation, and so shape our reality through those responses.
Â
So we create our world by how we perceive it and interact with it. Until now, this has largely been an unconscious process, but as we embrace Makemake, we begin to understand the creative power of our personal view of reality. This is the power that ‘great minds’ have to shape the consensus view.
So, to manifest our destiny today, we are likely to be reaching out in a fated way to people who can relate to our world view. People need to be part of our understanding of the world so we can see the possibility of contacting them, before we can make the contact. So, if we are open to the-new today, and act on our innate understanding, we will be in the right place at the right time to play our part in our destiny.

New Stars for a New Era Zoom Talk
I'm doing the first of a series of new Zoom talks to promote the book in a couple of days and you can find information on this below. In these talks I will give an overview of our 10 new planets and then focus in more detail on one. Essentially I'm offering ten different talks based on the book, so look out for the one that particularly interests you, or catch them all.
In this first talk for NCGR New Jersey I'll be focussing on Varuna, the planet of mastery consciousness and the higher octave of Saturn. And the good news is that you don't have to be a member of NCGR to join this Zoom. You can find more info below and register here.
New Stars for a New Era Book
The book has just been reviewed in the Danish astrology magazine, Horoscopet, and I'm including an english translation below. We're up to thirteen 5-star reviews on Amazon. Thank you everyone. If you are enjoying reading it, please consider writing a brief review.
Join us if you can on the Makemake course, or the New Stars - Varuna talk, and thanks for your work embracing these new aspects of consciousness.Â

New Stars for a New Era! Zoom Talk
The New Consciousness of Ten New Planets, Featuring Varuna—the Higher Octave of Saturn
Many astrologers believe that new planets are discovered when we are ready to incorporate the new consciousness represented by that planet into our existing consciousness. With the discovery of 10 new planets this century, we’re entering a period of rapid consciousness development, and this is enabling a whole new understanding of who and where we are.
This talk is based on Alan’s new book, New Stars for a New Era: A Consciousness Workbook for our 10 New Planets. It will give an overview of the aspects of consciousness represented by each of our ten new planets and then go into more detail on Varuna—the higher octave of Saturn—who brings us Mastery consciousness and enables our sovereignty. We will look at exercises to practically apply the energy, and at house interpretations with examples of famous people, to bring them to life.Â

The presentations will be held in webinar format and will be recorded.
