Just Released!

The Astrology of Haumea

This is the first of a series of textbooks on the astrology of the new dwarf planets, based on the research at the Dwarf Planet University.

Probably the most valuable section is the house interpretations, looking at how Haumea manifests in our daily lives with example case studies.

There is also a workbook to locate and on-board this new energy in your chart. And a section introducing each of the dwarf planets to put Haumea in context.

Uranus conjunct Sedna

The big news this month is the Uranus-Sedna conjunction, which I talk more about below, but I hope you are also enjoying today's Mercury sextile to Jupiter. These are lucky days where we can reach out into the world and expand our lives in a way that is going to work for us.

The Astrology of Ixion

And you are all in luck, because to celebrate the launch of my new book The Astrology of Ixion, Pluto's Lawless Brother, Our New Seeker Consciousness, which has been flying off the shelves over the last couple of weeks - thanks everyone, I appreciate your support -  in just one week's time I will be offering a free Kindle download of the book so those of you who haven't yet purchased a copy can get a chance to check it out.

This is a promotional deal, and the deal is that, if you like it, you help me to promote it, by writing a review on Amazon, or telling a friend about the book, or by buying the paperback. And I'll just mention that I use my work with clown and astrology as a case study in this book and that the paperback includes a lot of lovely images that you don't get in the Kindle download. I'll send an email in a few days letting you know how to prepare for this promotion if you don't already have the free Kindle app on your device. And another email in a week to let you know when the free download is available.

NORWAC Visit & Sacramento Talk

I'm about to get on the road with my new live workshops and talks, and the weekend after next I'll be talking to the NCGR group in Sacramento, CA, about the Uranus Sedna conjunction that we're currently having, and which I talk more about below. For those in that part of the world you can find out more about this talk here. That is the weekend of the NORWAC astrology conference in Seattle, so I'm also taking the opportunity to attend the first two days of the conference. I'm not talking there, just listening, but come and introduce yourself if you see me.

5-Planet Workshop in Brisbane

Before I fly out of Australia, I'm doing one of my new 5-Planet Workshops in Brisbane this Saturday for the Queensland Federation of Astrologers. This full-day workshop mixes the personal chart research that we do in the online courses with the more usual lecture presentation, which will bring the planets to life for participants. It covers the 5 most well known dwarf planets: Ixion (seeker consciousness), Haumea (unity consciousness), Makemake (systems consciousness), Eris (diversity consciousness), and Sedna (soul-growth consciousness). Those around Brisbane can find more information on this workshop here.

UAC Booth & UK Astro Conference

I'll be doing more workshops and talks in a range of place in the US, UK and Canada over the next 4 months and I'll let you know about these as they occur.

But just to mention that the Dwarf Planet Uni will be running a booth in the trade show at the United Astrology Conference in Chicago in September - here's a link to their site - 1500 astrologers will be there. Come and see us to get a free printout showing the placement of the dwarf planets in your chart, or to buy discount copies of my books, get great deals on classes, or buy a ten-minute dwarf-planet reading. We'll also be running an informal get together for those at the conference who are part of the Dwarf Planet Uni community.

For those in the UK and Europe, I'm honoured to have been invited to present two talks at the British Astrological Conference also in September. You can find information on this here. Prior to this I will also be doing one of my live 5-planet workshops at the London School of Astrology, which is coming up next month, and you can find information on that here.

Uranus conjunct Sedna

But the big news this month is that Uranus is closely conjunct Sedna, with the exact conjunction coming up in a couple of weeks - and this is likely manifesting in our lives as some sort of spiritual awakening. Over the past couple of weeks with Uranus in Gemini we've embarked on a transformative journey, where adaptability is becoming our greatest asset. And with Uranus conjunct Sedna, when we embrace the winds of change with openness and courage, the natural transformation that occurs is also a soul growth experience.

Sedna is named after the Inuit or Eskimo goddess of the food supply. And she talks about our spiritual destiny at the highest level, but also about all the learning experiences we have to go through to get to that spiritual destiny. I call Sedna our Soul’s Path of Destiny because her placement in your chart represents the growth experiences that your soul really wants to undertake in this life.

At the beginning of last year, she made her final ingress into Gemini. And she will remain in the sign of personal consciousness until 2065. So, we’re into a period where slogans, ideas and dogmatic debates are replacing our soul’s focus on the Taurian themes of money and sexuality.

Because the outer planets represent aspects of consciousness, how they manifest in our lives depends on our own current level of consciousness. When we are unconscious of our soul needs, Sedna’s focus in Gemini on ideas could lead us to believe that we can say anything we want to, without checking facts, or references. This approach is becoming pervasive in these years, as a way to get around our own lack of willingness to learn the real facts or develop intellectually.

But if you practice this approach, it will always bring you to a transcendent consciousness crisis, which will force you to let go of your old ideas because these have been proven not to work. The key with any Sedna crisis is to let go of the old framework early, so you don’t experience repeated pain. We need to be counter-intuitive and let go of the problem, rather than try to solve it.

Letting go is very hard to do, because we are brought up to be responsible, and the responsible thing is to face up to our issues, rather than turn our back on them. But Sedna issues can’t be solved within our current consciousness framework because they are designed to be transcended, to lift us out of our lower consciousness, or to shock or force us out if necessary. Transcendence is scary, because we don’t know where it will take us, but Saturnian solutions won’t solve Sedna crises. Only letting go of them will free us. When you do let go, you will be able to transcend to a new more spiritual understanding of yourself and your world.

So, if you are experiencing repeated pain in some area of your life during this transit, you need to let go of whatever is causing that pain. That’s easy to say, and hard to do. But however central it is to your life, find a way to let the pain go and transcend to a new understanding of who you are without that pain. Scary though it may be, you can trust that it will be a healthier and more spiritual expression of you.

Another way the spirituality of Sedna might be manifesting in the Gemini flurry of thoughts, is through a mental health crisis. If you are experiencing a health crisis, consider if it is being caused by your lifestyle being out of balance with your spiritual needs. If it is, bring spiritual solutions to bear on the physical problem, or concentrate on your spiritual growth as the answer. This will also likely mean practically changing your life in some way. The spiritual and practical changes go together like opposite sides of a coin, but you have to let the spiritual changes lead the process.

For those who are on the spiritual path Sedna in Gemini is a time to beat your drum and sing your song to life. It is the time to joyfully do the spiritual work that your soul really wants to do in this life. Sometimes it can be hard to know what this soul work is. But it is always largely a matter of accepting whatever is happening in your life. At the Sedna level everything that is happening is perfectly crafted for your soul growth. It may not be what you want at an ego level, but it is what you need at a soul level. And by finding the courage to embrace and nurture that, you can connect with the source of abundance in your life.

At this spiritual level, the conjunction to Uranus is likely bringing an intuitive understanding of this soul growth and of the next steps on your spiritual path. The conjunction is within one degree for the next month and will occur again for a final 3 months at the end of this year and into early next year. During these times, as you embrace Uranus’ consciousness raising impulses and open to the new you that is evolving, you will be doing the soul-growth work that you have incarnated to do.

And the secret to enable this is to keep your heart open, for your own benefit and for everyone else’s benefit, in this difficult time of change. We are still very early in our consciousness development as a species and an open heart is essential for personal transformation and expanded consciousness. You can enable this open heart by nurturing your sense of humour, which is a wonderful tool on the spiritual path, because it allows you to release baggage and go more lightly on your soul’s path of destiny.

So, seek out situations that make you laugh this month, as a way to embrace Uranus’ surprising impulses and release Sedna’s soul-level pressure. And when you do, notice the release of karmic baggage that the laughter enables. A weight is lifted from you, and you can go more lightly on your path.

At the top level, with Sedna, we learn to allow love and harmony. Love and harmony can only occur when we allow them to. So, you will hopefully find that with Uranus conjunct Sedna in Gemini, you have an intuitive understanding which enables you to let go of pain and allow love and harmony.

Exploring Sedna Further

Not surprisingly with this transit, our Sedna course, which kicks off this coming weekend, is full with 50 students across two Zoom times. To all of you guys, I'm really looking forward to working together at this exciting spiritual time.

And to everyone else who wants to explore their Sedna further, I encourage you to buy either my big book on Sedna, Sedna Consciousness the Soul's Path of Destiny, or better still, you could get my newer book, New Stars for a New Era, a Consciousness Workbook for our 10 New Planets, which has a chapter on Sedna with the house interpretations - the houses are the areas of our lives where we see these etherial outer planets manifesting most clearly - and it also has that information for another nine planets.

Many of you have already watched the recording of my NCGR talk on The World Awakening of the Sedna Uranus Conjunction. If you haven't and you want to understand Sedna more, you can check it out here.

Thanks for your work embracing these new aspects of consciousness and may your life be easy and love filled this month.

Love and laughter

Alan

I highly recommend the Dwarf Planets Course for the insights and the amount of new information and perspective gathered. Alan’s teaching inspires one and brings new light and spiritual understanding to charts (certainly to mine). His humor and friendly approach made the seminars very enjoyable, yet profound.  Elisabetta Quintiliani - Italy
