The Astrology of Haumea

This is the first of a series of textbooks on the astrology of the new dwarf planets, based on the research at the Dwarf Planet University.

Probably the most valuable section is the house interpretations, looking at how Haumea manifests in our daily lives with example case studies.

There is also a workbook to locate and on-board this new energy in your chart. And a section introducing each of the dwarf planets to put Haumea in context.

Jupiter trine Haumea

This week Jupiter, newly in Cancer, is square Saturn, newly in Aries. This is the opening square of the Jupiter-Saturn cycle which started with the conjunction in late 2020. Whatever structure you put in place to expand your life 4 years ago, is now manifesting clearly so you can see the strengths and the challenges you have to work with.

Saturn is closely conjunct Neptune, so you might be experiencing your life structure dissolving in some places, or you might be bringing a visionary, spiritual, or community minded, perspective to your responsibilities. Under this conjunction we are making our dreams real.

Jupiter meanwhile is trine Haumea, our new goddess of rebirth and unity consciousness, at 1 degree of Scorpio. So, as we live up to our responsibilities, the growth challenges we are facing are fostering a rejuvenation our lives and paving the way for a new beginning.

It is significant that Saturn is conjunct Neptune and Jupiter is trine Haumea, because Haumea is the higher octave of Neptune, turning his psychic opening into deep psychic connection. Where Neptune is dissolving our boundaries so we can merge with the collective, Haumea is connecting us directly with the oneness of humanity.

When we experience Haumea's psychic connection unconsciously, however, it can come with a similar righteousness to Neptune, but with much more psychic force behind it. So you could find yourself riding roughshod over everyone this week in your attempts to deal with the responsibilities that are coming from the Jupiter square to Saturn.

Or you might respond by being overly dramatic and attention-seeking, or by making claims of martyrdom. Or you could stick your neck out about something and so get yourself into trouble. And there is always a danger with Haumea that our drama could spin out of control and bring everything in our life crashing down. So if you feel that you are just keeping it together this week, you are doing well.

As we develop a more spiritual approach, we learn to trust in the life process and deepen our connection to the psyche through allowing the magic-of-being in each moment. We all know those special moments when we are out in nature, or in the arms of our love, or deep in meditation, where we feel the life-force chorusing through us.

So you might find that this week you are able to find the magic in your life that nourishes you psychically. One way to do that is to take time-out to refresh. Spend a day in your favourite nature haunt or, if you don’t have one, plan an outing where you can immerse yourself in nature, and just relax into oneness with the energy of life.

Haumea also talks about being part of a family born of a collision with reality, and she teaches us the value of nurturing the disparate aspects of our psychic identity. She throws us into experiences where we collide with consensus reality, but in that collision, we find a like-hearted community. In these situations, we experience our shared interests, which creates a sense of family that transcends biology.

So, at the spiritual level, the Jupiter trine Haumea could be encouraging you to find your community this week, to connect with a family of souls who can play important roles in your life, and to find a new way of living together with them. These people may be spread across the planet and may not be the obvious choice, but your connection with them will psychically nourish you and them. You are part of the DPU Haumean soul community and reading this newsletter keeps us connected.

As we develop spiritually Haumea teaches us to trust in our spiritual path. Life is a process of rejuvenation and she is always catalyzing rebirth in our lives. She does this by encouraging a spirit of play within the sacred work we are doing. Play requires trust in the bigger picture. We need to allow ourselves to let go and explore the myriad of creative possibilities without judgment, and that way we deepen the sacred.

So, the more you can let yourself be playful and creative this week, the luckier you will be and the more opportunity you will find. Trust in your spiritual path and embrace the constant renewal and the joy-in-life that brings.
