Venus Square Quaoar

I hope you are enjoying the Mercury grand trine to Jupiter and Saturn which is just coming into orb today and will be current for the next 4 days. Mercury is already slowing and in shadow, as he gets ready for his retrograde in a couple of weeks. So, these are good days to reach out in our communications and expand the structure of our life in some way.
Meanwhile Venus is square our new planet of spirit-practise, Quaoar, at 10 degrees Capricorn. This aspect has been current for the past three days, so you could have been challenged to take a more spiritual non-gendered view of your relationships during this time. Quaoar is our first non-gendered deity, and, in today’s pronoun rich environment, it is sobering to realise that we don’t have one for someone who is non-gendered. This gives us an idea of the evolutionary spirit consciousness that Quaoar brings into our lives.
We can look at Quaoar as the higher octave of Jupiter. A higher octave is a more spiritual expression of an inner planet that we know well. Both Quaoar and Jupiter talk of expansion and of new possibilities, but where Jupiter expands through a mix of luck and a hunger for more, Quaoar turns each moment into a dynamic meditation, where we can see new opportunities in real time, and deftly take the appropriate action to enable the expansion that is possible in each moment. Where Jupiter is dumb luck, Quaoar is like smart luck. We learn to see the world in a new way, and this opens us to new perspectives.
So with the Venus square to Quaoar, you are being challenged to embrace a spirit of discovery and to be open to seeing your life in a new way. You are being challenged by your relationships and values to be present in the dynamics of your experience in a way which enables you to find a peaceful spiritual centre in the midst of all the drama. When you do, this connection to spirit gives you the presence to see opportunities as they occur and then act on them.
So this square is a challenge to up-level your luck, and you do that by staying present in the moment and saying yes to opportunity. As many of you know I have a background as a clown and an improvisation teacher, and improvised theatre classes are very good for teaching us to say yes to opportunity. When we’re playing with someone, we have to say yes to everything they offer, otherwise the magic of the story collapses. This is good practice for taking the Quaoar opportunities when we see them.
Playfulness is the key to saying yes to opportunity, so, with the Mercury grand trine over these next days, grab any opportunity to be playful and present in your communication, as a way to rise to the challenge of up-levelling your luck and finding your peaceful spiritual centre in the midst of all the action.
Pushing the Limits
The orbital and physical characteristics of these new planets give us another way to understand them, and what is special about Quaoar is the planet's impossible ring, which sits at a distance of about seven times it's radius. While a number of planets have rings, Quaoar's is unique because it is much further out than all the others, and a ring circling at this distance should be stuck together as a moon.
Rings talk of limits, and Quaoar’s impossible ring tells us that Quaoar pushes the limit out further than any other planet. It tells us that much more is possible with this astrological energy, but that this greater opportunity is still practically bounded. And it has a form which is dynamic and energetically shaped by the interaction of its parts.
So, with the square to Venus, you have likely been feeling the challenge to push the limits in your values and relationships. And this has been preparing you for the communication about the structure of your life and the new opportunities you will discover over these next days with the Mercury grand trine.
As we develop spiritually, Quaoar’s revealing energy encourages our consciousness growth. At this level, your spirit practice is likely to be dynamic, meditative and free of the need for faith. This allows you to connect with the divine and ground that spirit in reality at the same time. Through this spirit practice, you come to understand the rich creative interplay which enables your growing consciousness.
Quaoar Early Scholarship
A great way to develop this spirit-practice is to jump into our Quaoar course which is starting in early January. As we understand the planet in our charts, and see it in our lives, we onboard this new consciousness and learn how to find the peaceful centre amidst the dynamic of our lives. To encourage you to join us, I have a handful of Early Scholarships. Be quick to grab one, as this will be the only time these are offered.
Here's a look at how this course works. We start with a live Welcome Q&A and we will explore Quaoar's House position in the first fortnight, his aspects in the second fortnight and transits in the third. Each fortnight will include an instructional webinar, an investigative assignment based on your personal chart and a live 2 hour Zoom Q&A session. Assignments will be posted on a private forum so we can learn from and comment on posts from our fellow course members. And the Q&A sessions will be recorded so you can pick up classes you miss live.
And remember this course has our new 'Tutor support program', which provides support Zooms to help those students who need assistance to complete the assignments. These support sessions are proving very popular and getting great feedback. So, wherever you are with your understanding of astrology, our tutors can help you participate.
Join us if you can on Quaoar and thanks for your work embracing these new aspects of consciousness.
Love and laughter
